Georg Philipp Telemann
Telemann was a Baroque composer and multi-instrumentalist whose genius lead to becoming Frankfurt’s music director and kapellmeister. One of the most prolific composers in history, Telemann was considered by his contemporaries to be one of the leading German composers in an era that boasted both Bach and Handel Telemann’s first published works were performed on Zeil at St Catherines, as were the innovative ‘Viola Concerto in G major’ and his first choral masterpiece ‘Brockes Passion’..
